Vocabulary

1. target audience: a specific group of people that a presentation or performance is targeted. 

2. message: what the artist/speaker is trying to tell or display to the audience

3. work ethic: the value of work in one person's opinion

4. employability skills: qualities in a person that would make a good, responsible, trustworthy employee

5. 20/20 Rule: for ever 20 minutes spent looking at a computer there should be 20 seconds of time  looking away

6. Right-To-Know Laws: laws that allow workers to know and understand the dangers in their work place

7. icon: a sign or image, typically smaller,  that represents a larger product

8. vector-based graphics: an image that, no matter how many time it is manipulated, does not lose its original quality. Not a pixel-ly look.

9. specs/specifications of a project: the same thing as project requirements (what you need to have foryour finished product)

10. dialog box (within an application): a shape commonly used to communicate dialog between one or more objects; can also be a pop up box explaining something to you on the computer

11. palette (within an application): a small window of colors that may open up to allow you to create custom shades of a color 

12. guidelines:adobe illustrator guidelines are blue lines that pull down or across from the ruler tool to create a custom grid across the art board

 13. extensions: the format in which a file is save on the computer. ex: .jpg / .ai / .png

14. contextual menu: a sidebar that allows you to change from tool to tool quickly

15. clipping mask: an image that only shows a particular part of the actual image. everything else is hidden
